Dual Entry Fraud
Dual Entry Credit Card Fraud.
In situations where the cashier is expected to Authorise Credit Card transactions on a separate device, cashiers could charge swipe the card for a lower value. Day end controls that make sure that all the slips are accounted end up allowing this sort of fraud to go undetected.
It is essential that the cash controllers compare the value of Credit card sales from the system against the banks records.
This seemingly obvious oversight has, in our experience led to many instances of fraud.
